Research

My research is primarily focused around Globular Clusters, Dwarf Galaxies, and Dark Matter. By using computer simulations to understand how dwarf galaxies and globular clusters form, what causes these conditions to arise, and how we can use globular clusters to further our understanding of dwarf galaxies and dark matter.

This line of research led me to predict a new type of galaxy, the globular-cluster-like dwarf, which possesses properties of both globular clusters and dwarf galaxies. Understanding how these globular-cluster-like dwarfs form and making predictions for their abundance within a Milky Way environment allowing the comparison with observational datato put incredibly tight constraints on dark matter itself. Finally, I am interested in advancing the fidelity of computer simulations of both globular cluster and dwarf galaxy formation by running extremely high resolution simulations and advancing the physics included in simulations.

Outreach and Community Uplifting

I am actively involved in supporting outreach events at the University of surrey, and in a mentoring scheme via the Cowrie scholarship foundation for talented, disadvantaged, Black British undergraduate students.

About Me

I am originally from Nottingham in the United Kingdom, typically known for the tale of Robhin Hood and his merry men, My undergraduate degree (Mphys Physics with Astrophysics) was completed in 2020 at Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne in the North East of England. I then moved to the University of Surrey in 2020 to complete a PhD in Astrophysics. Since completing my PhD in 2024 I have remained at the University of Surrey where I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate.
